Community involvement
Service ProjectsDogi-pot Locations
In 2022, the RHC brought to our neighborhoods four strategically located pet waste stations. These provide a convenience to our community dog owners, protect the beauty of our city, and can give everyone a clear path for walking. The funding for purchasing these stations, the installation and maintenance of them, is a result of membership and fund-raising of the RHC. The city matching grant contributed as well. The northern portion of the Historic District required host locations for the stations. We thank these private property owners for allow us to install the pet waste stations near them.
Charities General Board Meetings give the members an opportunity to collect much needed supplies for several local charities. At a recent meeting collections for CVAN were accepted. We are happy to share that a trunk-load of wish list items were delivered. Thank you RHC members for having such caring hearts for a wonderful organization. Adopt-A-Street Spring St NW in Historic Concord has been adopted by the Residents of Historic Concord, about a 1 mile stretch. RHC volunteers are committed to picking up litter at least once every three months. Additional information about this very worth-while effort can be found at the city site here. If you would like to find out how you can participate in this event each quarter please connect with Committee Chair at, littercleanup@residentsofhistoricconcord.org. |

A few of the groups supported include, Historic Cabarrus Association's annual fundraising dinner, decorating a tree for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Cabarrus County's Festival of the Trees fundraiser, CVAN, Opportunity House, Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity. Our members volunteer in the community through many nonprofits and civic groups.
In addition to fundraising events, RHC has sponsored and volunteered at the Cabarrus Arts Council, supported the Annual meeting of Historic Cabarrus and helped organize a fundraiser for Old Courthouse Theatre. The RHC has adopted Spring Street in Historic Concord to keep our neighborhood spruced up.
